Why be a trustee?
It’s an honour to be selected as a Member Nominated Director. Having enjoyed a career in risk management spanning over 25 years (at HSBC since 2013) I’m hoping to bring a different perspective to the Trustee board and help to ensure that it continues to deliver benefits and top-tier services to all members of the schemes. Getting up to speed on the technicalities of pension schemes, their tax arrangements and regulatory requirements will provide a welcome challenge alongside my day job.
My priorities
My key priorities are twofold:
1) to get everyone in the bank, regardless of how close they are to retirement, thinking about their pension savings and making the most of the benefits that are on offer within the DC scheme.
2) There are many different parties and processes involved in the management of the pension scheme – understanding and managing the risks involved in each step of the process is key.
